Dr, Russell Grubbs is Assistant Professor of Chemistry in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. Prior to joining the faculty at Grand Canyon University, he was an industrial synthetic chemist for six years. As an industrial chemist, Dr. Grubbs was responsible for the large scale preparation of potential drugs.
Russell has a BA in Chemistry from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine and a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from Purdue University. He holds one US Patent (#6916832) and has had research published in the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry and Bioorganic and Medicinal Chemistry.
Dr. Grubbs has taught Chemistry 101 (online and ground), 331 (Organic I - lecture and laboratory), 332 (Organic II - lecture and laboratory), and 462 (Biochemistry II).
When not in the lab, you can find Dr. Grubbs preparing for his next long distance race or watching Purdue football. | | |
